Thanksgiving is just around the corner – falling on Thursday 27 November (2025) this year. Why not celebrate and reflect on the blessings this year has brought by spending some time getting stuck into stitch? We have four free Thanksgiving cross stitch motifs, designed by Cheryl McKinnon, for you to create in the run-up to the special day of thanks.

How to make the thanksgiving cross stitch turkey tag

To make the thanksgiving cross stitch turkey tag, back your stitching with white paper. Draw a circle on the reverse with your stitching at the centre. Cut out then mount onto a circular tag. Finish with bold ribbon.

About the thanksgiving cross stitch patterns

There are four thanksgiving cross stitch motifs here that you can stitch as small cards or gifts to mark Thanksgiving. They use cross stitch in two strands of cotton, and some motifs also include metallic thread. They use backstitch in one strand of thread. No fractional stitches are used. Cheryl McKinnon
