You will need
- white paper
- Pencil
- Acid-free double-sided tape
Step 1
Place the felt frame with the circle aperture cut out over one of the completed pieces of stitching. Move it around until you’re happy with the positioning then, holding the layers tightly together, flip it over.
Step 2
Lightly draw a pencil line on the reverse of the fabric inside the edges of the frame, approx. 1cm out from the inner circle edges all the way around. Hold it up to a light source, such as a window, to see easier through the layers.
Step 3
Carefully cut out the fabric along this line.
Step 4
Using the inner circle as a template, draw around it onto white paper and cut out approx. 0.5cm bigger.
Step 5
Stick strong acid-free double-sided tape to the inside edges of the felt circle frame – use little pieces so as much of the inner circle is covered as possible.
Step 6
Place your stitching centrally inside the frame and press down firmly, then place the white paper circle on top.
Step 7
Stick more double-sided tape to the ‘petals’ of the frame.
Step 8
Place the back frame piece in position on top, lining up the petals. Press down firmly to stick and finish.
Turn your felt frames into whatever you like – sandwich a loop of thread or ribbon between the layers of felt to make a hanging decoration; secure a safety pin to the back felt layer to turn it into a brooch; use as a coaster; or simply display on a wall or shelf for decoration.
